DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications), CiDA and AiDA from Edexcel share a unique requirement for work to be submitted in an e-portfolio. This is a key attraction of the course, but it is also the key headache. How do you manage an ePortfolio? What tools do you use? Will they require expensive site licenses? Here's the solution: a completely free suite of 8 ePortfolio tasks covering the complete course at both levels (1 and 2). It's all online, so no hassles with site licenses, lost access keys or corrupted applications. It's designed to be easy for students and practical for teachers to manage.

Each ePortfolio task links directly to its Summative Project Brief (SPB). Students have huge flexibility to create and customise their work. Clear and simple tools enable teachers to monitor and assess the results.

The DiDA ePortfolio is a free service from Chalkface.

An exclellent method of getting kids to focus on Unit 1 Level 1 products and not getting obsessed with website creation software. Makes it really easy for me to comment upon their developing eportfoilio a dn even keeps a record of my comments. Brilliant resource which has saved me many hours of stressing over eportfolio crreation and broken links!!

Guys let me start by saying what a fantastic resource you have created for the DiDA e-portfolios - particularly as it is free! I cant believe it. It therefore seems very 'picky' of me to point out an error on your site regarding the College templates (css files) that students can choose from. At present (as far as my experimentation so far shows) attachments on ANY of the college css templates don't work (all other css files work fine - just the College ones). These are such high quality templates I m sure many schools - including my own - will want to use them. Could I also suggest two other minor improvements that would be very useful - one may be easy the other maybe not! It would be helpful if students could enter their candidate number on their details form and that would then appear along with their name on the e-portfolio screens. The second would be an indicator somewhere of the total size of the e-portfolio files so that students can see whether or not they are exceeding the 20Mb limit. I haven't explored all of the other features, tests etc yet, but this product is an absolute winner! Keep up the good work. Editor update: The bug in the templates has been fixed. The 20MB limit is enforced by the software; students cannot go over it.
