Guide your students step by step through the process of making sound decisions using sources as evidence. An introductory murder case (Brenda's Murder) gets students comfortable with the process without being tied to a specific (and potentially intimidating) historical context. Subsequent quizzes allow students to apply and develop the same skills in relation to topics featured in the KS3 History SoW.

Students complete quizzes which test their ability to:

identify sources
analyse sources
combine and evaluate sources

Conclusions drawn from their analyses can be polled using a survey format (Whodunnit, The Killer! and What Do You Think?) and projected or written on the board to facilitate a dynamic and engaging class discussion.

i have only just found this resource so not tried it yet but cant wait. for the children i teach its just the right level and i can get them to do it when im not there too and then discuss it afterwards. who thought of the swinging budgie cage? thats brilliant
