What are eLearning Credits?
In its drive to improve teaching and learning in schools, the Government has set aside substantial funds for schools to spend on ICT and multimedia resources. These funds take the form of eLCs or Electronic Learning Credits and are distributed from central Government via LEAs to individual schools. Each school has an appointed eLC budget holder and decides locally how to spend their funding.
What can I can buy with eLCs?
Curriculum Online has been appointed by the Government to control the resources which qualify for purchase using eLCs.
All Chalkface material is available in digital format and, as such, can be bought using your eLCs.
To order please complete the online order form ensuring that you select either the pdf or CD Rom option.
What are eLCs worth ?
In May 2003, every qualifying school received £1000, plus almost б£10 per student, for the academic year 2003-4.
By April 2006, Government-funded nursery, primary and secondary schools, up to and including Key Stage 4, had received a total of £330 million in eLC money.
Your school should be receiving funds at the moment. Check with your eLC budget-holder or LEA.
